Two Illyrian ships have recently been found in the waters of “Hutovo Blato” eight meters beneath the water surface. Those two are the first ones ever to be found. Earlier, the only source of, existence of such ships were a few old Roman documents. The ships are estimated to be 2200 years old. Along with the ships, there were also a number of other archaeological objects, such as old roman arrows, amphora’s, and a boat from the Middle Ages. When and how the fragile objects will be removed from the waters still remains to be seen.

The historical core of Blagaj is about to receive tourists in a new light. The project includes laying out 600 meters of new Paving Stone, renovating eight old stone monuments, building a new info centre with a parking lot and educating new guides. The construction work will probably not be finished before the summer, but that will in no way effect the visitors.

Mostar’s “central park” is soon to be reopened. After about five months of renovation it is almost finished. So far the new illumination system has bean installed, the water supply system, as well as the surveillance cameras. The remaining job to be done is to plant new trees and lay out new grass. And finally the new playground for the children will be installed. The park is planed to be reopened on April 23, the international day of planet earth.

The Bevanda hotel has now received its fifth star. It was awarded by the federal ministry of tourism this week. It is Mostar’s first and so far only 5-star hotel. Looking back on history, it is also worth mentioning that this hotel in 2004 was awarded the best hotel in south-eastern Europe.

Biosphere is Mostar’s new top modern mall. The mall complex includes shopping area, restaurant, roof bar, beauty salon, travel agency, and a Night club. It's located in a "pedestrean zone" in Fejiceva street. |
